چکیده

Abstract Background Extravasation of radiopharmaceuticals used for vectorized internal radiotherapy can lead to severe tissue damage (van der Pol et al., Eur J Nucl Med Mol Imaging 44:1234–1243, 2017). Clinical management these extravasations requires the preliminary estimation dose distribution in extravasation area. Data are scarce regarding literature. This work presents a methodology estimating after an occurred September 2017, arm patient during 7.4-GBq infusion Lutathera ® (AAA). Methods A local quantification procedure initially developed renal dosimetry was used. calibration factor determined and verified by phantom study. volume interest its variation time were using 4 whole body (WB) planar acquisitions performed at 2 h ( T 2h ), 5 5h 20 20h 26 26h ) beginning three SPECT/CT thoracic , . For better initial volume, 3 volumes defined on SPECT images 3D activity threshold. Cumulated activities associated absorbed doses D 1 calculated MIRD formalism. Results Volumes estimated threshold V = 1000 mL, =400 =180 mL. evaluated monoexponential fit images. Estimated 2.3 Gy, 4.1 6.8 Gy. Evolution area consistent with effective half-life eff h. Conclusions Rapid permitted thanks knowledge previous accidental extravasation. A comparison of 2D and 3D kidney absorbed dose measures in patients receiving 177Lu-DOTATATE

Objective(s): To investigate and compare quantitative accuracy of kidney absorbed dose measures made from both 2D and 3D imaging in patients receiving 177LuDOTATATE (Lutate) for treatment of neuroendocrine tumours (NETs). Methods: Patients receiving Lutate therapy underwent both whole body planar imaging and SPECT/CT imaging over the kidneys at time points 0.5, 4, 24, and 96-120 hours after inj...

SPECT image segmentation for estimation of tumour volume and activity concentration in 177Lu-DOTATATE radionuclide therapy

BACKGROUND Dosimetry in radionuclide therapy has the potential to allow for a treatment tailored to the individual patient. One therapeutic radiopharmaceutical where patient-specific dosimetry is feasible is 177Lu-DOTATATE, used for the treatment of neuroendocrine tumours. The emission of gamma photons by 177Lu allows for imaging with SPECT (single photon emission computed tomography). One impo...

Dose response of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors treated with peptide receptor radionuclide therapy using 177Lu-DOTATATE.

UNLABELLED Peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) is a promising treatment for patients with neuroendocrine tumors, giving rise to improved survival. Dosimetric calculations in relation to PRRT have been concentrated to normal organ dosimetry in order to limit side effects. However, the relation between the absorbed dose to the tumor and treatment response has so far not been established....

Nephrotoxicity after PRRT - still a serious clinical problem? Renal toxicity after peptide receptor radionuclide therapy with 90Y-DOTATATE and 90Y/177Lu-DOTATATE.

INTRODUCTION The kidneys play an essential role in PRRT. The infusion of amino acids could reduce uptake in the kidney of radiolabelled peptides. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of kidney damage post PRRT. MATERIAL AND METHODS 53 patients, with disseminated neuroendocrine tumours (NET), received 3-5 cycles of up to a maximum 7.4 GBq/m2 calculated dose of 90Y-DOTATATE (n ...
